Hello all,

As you may know, I spent a portion of yesterday backing up the website database to which the site was offline for a 30 minute period.

I am closely monitoring the website recently due to the huge lag and load times including the PHP timeout errors experienced at times.

I tweaked a few settings in PHP files and may upgrade to MYSQL 5 to further improve stability.

From my initial tests, the reason why our forum was slow was not due to the hosts 90% of the time, It was in fact a large and fragmented database which was causing the timeouts.

Anyhow, now most of the website should be stable and running fast, but I would like your comments on problems experienced so I may look into them or consider switching hosts as a last resort.

Thanks in advance

Matt

The speed of the forums as well as the shoutbox is very good right now. Thank you very much Matt, since the lags and error messages were really annoying. We appreciate your hard work! :)

Right now, the speed of the site is like when I joined, and it's a long time since it's been this fast. :)

The Report Database is SUPERfast!! The shoutbox also updates shouts quicker, and also - very important - WebAdmin doesn't loose connection when sending commands to the server!! Very nice.

In general a huge approvement, I hope the site keeps up it's speed :)

what? never encountered problem like this, lol

maybe if you are on more then 1 WA at the same time and you log off from one of them you are automatically logged off from all :)

Well, the loading times are faster than yesterday, back to the normal loading times it seems. I can't determine if there's an improvement in performance since the site has lagged on and off, so I can't rate the performance for now but I will rate it later on. Thanks again for working on it, Matt. :)

Nope. It's this weird error where, when you send a command, i.e. kick, ban or say something it will try to send it to the server, but timeout, resulting in an error : Server too busy. It happens ALOT on WA, and it doesnt matter if you have one or ten windows open.

Ask Law :p He's fighting it too.

It's an internet thing, known as "haters" :D

Nah, the person probably didn't even realize we're talking about the new speed and not that of e.g. 2 days ago. :)
