Hello All,

As of course you can see that we are making a mod for the game Emergency 4/911 First Responders, we would like people to share their ideas with us about what they want to be included in the mod, As so not to make the Main thread of the mod crowded and we will take ages to look and reply etc. In this thread people post your ideas and share them with us (Anyone From around the world :D)

Thank you :)

Alright, first thoughts :

• All vehicle have floodlights, in the form of simply turning their highbeams on.
• Some vehicles have additional floodlights

• If possible, missions requiring more work should be made, i.e. "Protestors has dragged debris onto road, hence blocking it. Remove the debris and arrest the protestors" or "Road Traffic Accident involving large vehicle" (requireing a large towtruck)

• More missions requiring special vehicles

• A freeway through the city, with accident on it. Random wheter accidents should be large or small and if more accidents should occur from that accident.

• A more balanced flow of Emergencies, so not all is either Fire or Police. In real life, the most common calls are for EMS. The frequency of each accident can be set, and should be set so the work load is equal. Also on tech missions, be it traffic light failures or RTA involving the need for a crane. :)

That's what I have off the top of my head :p

EDIT :

So far the only suggested countries are DK and NL. If it's either of those countries, the speed of Police and EMS should be drastically increased. Our police will drive completely insane if needed. I was passed in our capital once by an unmarked copcar traveling at 100 kmh towards a red light in VERY dense traffic.

Same with EMS. On the freeway, our ambulances typically go up to 160 kmh, whilst cops go to 200-240 whilst driving escorts for the ambulances. So the speed of police should probably be about 140, and for EMS 100. The speed for firetrucks on the other hand should be drastically lower than now, e.g. 70 so there actually is a difference between a 24t truck and a small police car.

EDIT 2 :

Radio Traffic, we need some realistic sounding radiotraffic when you call a unit and when it reaches scene. Rather than the normal voice things, it should be a radio sound saying something like "Engine 193 arrived on scene" and "EMS1043 enroute, priority one."

A bonus would be to have dispatch included, i.e.

"Dispatch to patrol 231, respond to situation at GPS coded location immediate, over"
"Patrol 231 to dispatch, 10-4, responding, ETA 3 minutes, priority one, out"

Try the Winterberg mod, that actually have that. :) It's a really nice addition.

I had another one...

When danish emergency vehicles drive in general, they have two ways of doing so :
Priority 1 - Emergency driving, means flat out and with sirens and lights
Priority 2 - Lights and sirens off, obeying traffic laws, etc

It should be possible to make two move commands with a 1 and a 2 number on the icon. So if you'd click somewhere on the map, the default would be 1. But if you're just sending a car to park somewhere, it could go there on 2. Once the car reaches it's destination it should keep it's status, so 2 would be lights off, and 1 would be flashing lights.

The same goes for returning to HQ. Ambulances should drive Priority 1 if they have victims, but pretty much everyone else should drive Priority 2. :)

Yeah, I agree with that could call it Emergency Drive (1) and City Drive (2)

Nicoleise

Yup, or just Priority 1 and 2 :D

If you notice the small text bar at the top of the screen in the original game, that also states "Priority 1", so I think it's something that's widely understood :D

And we should (yes, I still think so) make radio traffic where this is included. :p

Wow, so you are making your own mod now :p

what you say nico sounds good :p

but i have one idea, if its possible, to add more traffic to the game, 1 car / km is very low for LA :p

Good thinking, Blizz...

I think it has a bad side too though, as you know, the units in the game are slowed down ALOT by meeting traffic because, rather than overtaking the traffic, they stop, turn around, reverse past the traffic, then turn around once more and get going, or similar odd driving.

So we'll have to look into :
• Can it even be done?
• Will it delay units so much, missions will be too hard?

But we'll do that. Thanks for the good suggestion, and keem 'em coming :D

I remember seeing a YouTube video on the Emergency Planet forums that had civilian cars pull over to the side of the road to get out of the way when a emergency vehicle is coming up from behind with its lights and siren on. Maybe that can help with that traffic.

Would you care to post a link for that mate? :) I'd REALLY like to see if that's possible (without it resulting in dead pedestrians :D )

I'll have to search for it. It was a while back when I saw it. It was in one of the LA mod threads for EM4.

Edit: Hold on. I found it. Link for the forum is here (http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?showtopic=3357&st=560). Go to post number 578.

The priority idea is good. However, will creating the priority selector require lots of coding?

Nope, not really. :)

There's a siren script already. And that uses the function "AutoSirenOFF" for cars that will use sirens per default, so you have the option of turning off their siren. If it doesnt have this option, the siren will per default be off.

So it should be possible to "add" that script to the script of the "Move" command, and it should work. :)

Consider that other scripts provide stuff like "call for backup" (LA mod, nearest police car will respond), "E-POL" (Winterberg mod, ALL available police cars will immediately rush to the unit that send out the emergency signal), etc etc.

In LA mod, every new object, like traffic cones, pedestrian barriers, road flares, "traffic west command", etc all work by a script. The normal game doesn't understand a traffic cone.

In Winterberg mod, if a person is seriously wounded, an emergency doctor will be called by the ambulance crew and respond. He'll ride in the ambulance whilst his assistant follows in the doctors car. At the hospital, the doctor will enter the car again, and it'll go to HQ, the ambulance will unload and go to HQ. All that is also a script :)

So, is it DK or NL or wich country did you take?

because both DK and NL mods already exist ;)

DK.

There is a danish mod, yes... But it sucks to be honest. It has got nothing, the units doesn't look too danish, they only have stock commands and for some odd reason all text is in german.

The NL mod is a real mod, made by a dude named Stan. :)

And yes, we'll be focussing on Denmark. :)

ok, dont know about danish units that much, and about the text, i did see that but thoose languages are almost the same for me XD
and i did test this mod, But is it only me or can anyone move the units? i can only deploy them from the station and noting more :s

I think you need to have at least one person in a unit to move it. ;)

More realistic and more annoying.. :p

i cant move anything, no matter how many ppl inside unit, and if i take them out of the unit to heal a person or something then they just stand where they get off the car and cant move to the injured or anything :p test it ..
