So i have made a new thread so we can have all the vehicles in it which we will be likely be able to use in our mod, please use this thread for that use :)

AKS (Swat) :

Riot Control Vehicle (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c5/Hollaendervogn_front_view.jpg/557px-Hollaendervogn_front_view.jpg) (Purpose (http://www.ebblog.dk/img/923/img_45e74160c8ef3.jpg) is to break up big crowds of protestors/rioters, if they become hostile. The aim is to break them up in smaller groups so it's possible to arrest them. Usually the protestors will try and stop these cars by standing in the way, but will be run into slowly, knocking them down. That usually changes their mind. )

Danish police does not have watercannons, as it's not allowed for them to use it, sadly. I still think one needs to be in the mod though. Danish police used one on one occasion, but due to the nature of it's use, they choose a CrashTender from an Air Force base, to prevent retaliation acts (vandalism). I think the most accurate way to "give" the police a watertender in denmark would be to use a watertender with the command to keep people away (for the mod ofc)


Emergency Services :

Shows the black Porsche Cayenne - that's an EMS car, holds one doctor. There are several of these, Volkswagen Touareg, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, VW Transporter, VW Touran, etc etc. For the mod, it should hold 2 people though.

In addition to Fire and Tech, we also have something called "Beredskabsstyrelsen" which is some kind of responce unit for huuge emergencies. That's where the orange units come from.

This is a list of various vehicles of theirs (http://www.brs.dk/brss/Ressourcekatalog/alle.htm). It's in danish, but you can pretty much see what they do from the pics. And that if anything is needed, it's probably found there.

I may have forgotten some, feel free to ask :) But those are all I could think of and find, to show the Danish Emergency stuff :p Note though, that there are plenty more varieties, it's only types Im mentioning. E.g. The BombSquad drives in VW Transporter T5, but it just has a different paint job than the personel carriers ;)

We could really do with some more suggestions on countries. I would be interesting to have something to choose from.

I didn't succeed in finding any firetruck from these countries. They are similar to the danish ones though.

Disadvantage of UK as that most cops doesn't carry guns. Hence there needs to be two types of police, where one drives in their own vehicles and are armed, but it will be a pain in game, if you need armed police and they are no where nearby. On the other hand it'll provide an actual challenge, as UK is very carefull with their police ressources, so the player has to be the same ; i.e. sending regular cops a bit away on standby untill backup from armed units arrives.

Oh, and just a suggestion, when we do make up a name for this mod I don't think we should call it 'Country mod' because that would sound like we are just copying 'L.A. Mod'

For me, i really choose the vehicles which are easiest to make, because as i asked on Emergency planet and other modders, cars will be modeled by our selves, meaning that basically this will take ages in making them, and learning how to make it, so better start learning first :p and then we start choosing the country/vehicles

Uhm... Wouldn't it take even longer to first make random vehicles and then start making the right ones? All we need is to decide on a country and work can commense on deciding which units and start modding them :)

@Nico: It does allow that yes, Nico, but we will have to change the routes of the map and the paths of which cars will take, the Tokyo Mod is doing this at the moment is that he's making a completely new map for Tokyo and including in it that cars drive on the left hand side but they are making a new road map and new paths for cars.

That sounds like alot of trouble ? But also really cool.. :p Not just for left hand driving but in general making paths, to create new roads. :)

I'll add UK to the suggested countries then, along with Sweden and Norway, although it's extremely hard to find ressoures (pictures, etc) for Norway and Swedens units.

Actually Nico it isn't that much of trouble like modeling the vehicles, its been more than 1 week now im trying to model the VW polo which is in the FD pictures of Tyrope, and im not even close, it just looks like a fat big box, the problem is that we MUST use zmodoler because of the .V3O format of the models, -Passage removed by Mod- and it isn't running that create, but its better than nothing. Rather than editing the map itself we don't need that much of learning and we don't need any payed softwares as its all in the EM4-editor, What i want to do is to take this mod into different levels, rather than working on it all just as one thing,

For example

The first making of the mod can include the differences in lights which you want to make, and the second version of the mod, we can change some parts of the map, the third we change the vehicles, the 4th we put extra commands, etc etc, so we don't put it all just as one thing and not give each part of the mod its deserved time,

Anyway, Yes i was thinking about using the normal Stock EM4 Vehicles and rather add more commands, add objects, change stuff in the map, Vehicle lights like you wanted,

Well, my thoughts? Uhm... Releasing a mod where it's still the normal map and normal cars would hardly qualify as a mod I think :D

I think we need to have the vehicles modded (at least most of them, we can keep some low-priority ones like TowTruck and Crane and such from the EM4 game for now) and leave the commands stock and the map stock... That would qualify as a V1.0 to me. Then going on to edit commands of the cars, and maybe add mission scripts and commands could be v2.0
And version 3.0 could be with an entirely new, all completed map, and with all the vehicles modded, and all the commands added, etc.

Adding lights will only take me like... 5 minutes per vehicle, so it's not bad. It's just important that the skinning of the car matches so it actually has a light, where the light is coming from :)

Anyhow, that's my thoughts. Releasing a stock EM4 game with new lights doesn't sound good to me, as the mod wouldnt really be taken seriously, I think. Even if we improve it later, people will still have "That wasnt a mod" in the back of their minds, I think :)

Did we ? :D lol... Uhm, okay :p I was actually thinking about leaving the paintjob like it is on the actual vehicles, but if you'd rather make something, I guess that's also possible. I think it's easier to duplicate existing vehicles as we just have to copy the design rather than having to come up with it :) It would also be more realistic, I guess.


Well, I've been giving this some thought, and although I think it's sad to rush it like this, I also think we need to get going with this - people can always join in on making the mod as we go along.

For me, I'd choose Danish/Denmark. It's not that I live here, it's just that it's the only country where I know the units and know what they actually do, and how we could apply that in game. I also know 5 homepages where I can find pics, apart of course from the material that I could gather myself. It's also the only country where I know about their behavior (i.e. the speeds they travel, their procedures).

But I'm wondering if we should make the poll on it as promised in the "Country" thread? :)
