SOG Radio as background

a classmate of mine pointed this out when he listened to me yesterday, he thought that if we'd put the radio as website background (can be turned off ofcourse) that it would invite more people to listen... maybe it's something the higher-ups can work with?

I don't like that idea :)

It'll slow the site down because of loading the streaming, before you can turn it off, and as far as Im aware, it has to be in a seperate frame so it wont load everytime you click - and SOGteam.co.uk doesn't appear to be using frames - the entire site loads in one go. :)

Besides, people who want to listen can just click tune in. :) So I think it's rather unnessacary... :)

Why would they listen then if it is as background they don't need the radio anymore the ycan listen strait away and prob turn it off anyway :(

Could work in favour of promoting the radio, or on the other hand deter people not only from the radio; the site too!

Ive had experience of this type of thing before at another site I admined, where music would play upon loading. As a result the feedback could be described as 50-50 at first, but soon after a few months had past you could see the comments getting more negative about the idea.

So in all, as good as the idea sounds in principle; I dont think the desired result will quite pull off for us.

However with that said, good call & thanks to your friend for the feedback
