Ok this is doing my head in, Netgear(my wireless router) is blocking some websites mostly the one I wanted to go on can someone help me. I've been going on the website for at least a year and it hasn't really made a problem, I dont want this firewall because i already have one please someone tell me how to fix this
MOD Note : Moved from Public Lounge to Helpdesk, please ensure to post in the proper forum, thank you. // Nicoleise
u shouldnt go to porn websites :D .
i had to say it.
but i think the problem is somwhere else. can u explain the problem. firewalls dont block a website. they block programs, so the program cant connect to the internet. they also can block incomming traffic, but i think they dont block a seperate website.

well, no it says: Web Site Blocked by NETGEAR Firewall
lol no its not a porn web but as i say again i have been going on this website for at least a year using the same router
u should enter the router via ur browser to unblock the pages. i dont use netgear, so i dont know what to enter exatcly in the adress-field. google will help.
then u can unblock the pages. BUT u have to know the password to enter the router.
perhaps ur parents did block them :s

http://portforward.com/
That site contains the default username / password / network adress for by far the most routers. :)
Just remember though, that if the pages are blocked by someone, then there's probably a reason for that, so ask your parents first, before you change anything ;)
If someone has manually blocked you from viewing web sites, a quick press of the reset button will solve that problem. I'm sure there's a way to disable the netgear firewall. Trying typing in 192.168.1.1 in your browser and see what happens. If I remember correctly, that is netgear's DNS address.
I have a Netgear router Version WGR614v6, and it works ok, I haven't had the issue with it blocking any sites though, as I am the admin :D
EDIT:
One thing, try to type the site in the Address bar different ways for example:
www.example.com, example.com, http://example.com, and http://www.example.com
I did a test with my router and it is sensitive to the format it's put into the block list.
I can use routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1 to access my router settings. When you type either of the IP/URL in your Browser it should come up with a login box, after you enter your Username, which my default is Admin, then the PW it'll come up with the options.
On the right side on my Netgear model, is the options to setup different settings for the router. Under "Content Filtering" there is a "Block Sites" link, if you have that site in that page then you can clear it, that should work then.
If that doesn't work then you can turn off the actual firewall of the Router, not recommended, to see if that works. You can do so by clicking on "WAN Setup" in the "Advanced" section. It's called the "SPI Firewall" you can uncheck it and click "Update" it'll reset the router then should work hopefully.
Hope this helps, tried to be as thorough as possible :)
