View Full Version : New Radio Broadcasting Automated Notification
As per title, a small announcement to everyone;
At the top of the website navigation is the |SOG| Radio Status which has been there for sometime.
However from today, ive coded it so the status will be automatically updated and correct.
For example;
If the Status shows: |SOG| Radio - Tune In (also displays radio image) = Server and broadcasting is online and availiable to listen to!
However if the status shows: |SOG| Radio - Offline (also displaying disconection image) = server or broadcasting is offline and unavailiable to listen to.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note, soon we will be allowing specific members to broadcast their own shows and music.... more details to follow later

It appears that something is wrong with the code, as even though the radio is not running, the message at the top of the forum still says Tune In.
hmm it appears offline here mate :s LOL

Would the fact that I use the Original Blue, White Text theme make a difference? I know that in the past there's been problems with features only updating on certain themes, so maybe the top radio status is changing in the Pro Dark theme, but not the older ones.

Correct, its something I always usually overlook. Ive fixed the issue now so it should work in both styles :)

Thanks for fixing that, Matt. I'm not sure how many people here still use the old themes, but I've always liked them, especially the White Text one. It all works out in the end though, since I'm able to spot errors like this. :)

Anyone can listen to the radio stream, whether they are registered at the site or not. As far as keeping track of how many listeners there are, they are counted by the ShoutCast server, so as soon as someone tunes in, it's counted.
Good info Element thank you :)
Well in the past ... the counter showed a max of 5 people listening at once ... but most the time if anyone is listening it's at 1 or 2 at times. When it's broadcasting.
yes, seems like we're losing interest in it (yes, i speak for us all, including me)...
let's hope the DJ requirement makes people know when their fav. music is in the air! (yes, IN the air... how else you think your connection to the internet goes worldwide?)
I'm a regular listener of the [SOG] Radio =] wish there was more rock/metal on there tho good to listen to when playing on servers alone =]
Great, Great to the |SOG| radio.... :) :cool:
I am still a listening here in |SOG| forum to the |SOG| radio.... :) ;)
I like to the radio.... Perfect.... heheheh ;)
Glad you like it Alexis, if anyone knows of a good place to get popular music let me know :)
