OK guys, if you're a forum member / SOG member (registered user), you will notice the Welcome block at the top of the forum index.

It has taken me hours to code / develop and ive finally cracked it.

Im basically looking for your feedback & comments on whether you like it or dont etc and what you think in general,

There are more mods on the way so keep an eye out ;)

Cheers

Matt

PS- All comments / ideas appreciated... i was thinking maybe add a link to the server stats or something?

I like how the information is presented such as how many posts were made since your last log-in etc. My only gripe is I use 1024x768 res and the forum now stretches off screen so it scrolls a little to the right... any chance that can be corrected?... I know call me picky :p

I don't or try to avoid negative responses, instead I prefer constructive criticisms.

yea i also use that res and noticed that while trialing earlier on... I am working on it but for some reason the coding seems to not like it :( anyway... I will keep trying as Im a picky person like urself when it comes to things like that.

Thanks for the feedback

Matt

yeah it's nice, but I have another problem with the forum, something that should be fixed if possible.

If you read a "marked as new" post and go out of the thread directly to the forum index it'll show you the same thread as unread again until you click yourself slowly through everything backwards, like this:

I got a marked as new for this thread here, I read it and click on |SOG|Forums up there ;D
then it shows the same category as unread again, if I go into this post and do it like this:

click on Feedback -> Public Forums -> SOG Forums

then it shows it as readed....

but that's not how it should be :) it's the first forum I ever saw with a bug like this :)

would be gread if you could "try" to take a look into that, if it's not possible then it's ok but would be really nice ;)

thanks ;)

Regarding the bug maggot mentions I dont fully understand what you mean but could have a guess. I have been trying to find a solution for ages :s

I will try my best to sort it.

This bug is still there...do you have any idea how to fix it now? It's tough to check what has already been read and what not. ^^;

*hopes not to take a roundhouse-kick from Matt* >.>;

Phew, no kick. ^^;

It's okay, I mean I've lived with this bug until now, but would be great if the problem could be found. I'll survive the fact that it might be a problem without a findable solution. ;) But still thanks for trying to fix it.

This issue here im glad to say is now fixed. If you have read all the posts / threads in the concerned forum the "new posts" icon will go grey not keep flashing blue arrows.

It has taken me some time to fix this and gain the extensive knowledge to identify the problem as you can probably tell by this thread date. However, the fix came after I discovered the forum database can handle the icons, instead of relying on cookies as before.

Thanks

Matt
