ok this game is NOT complete!! it has no static objects, only 1/3 weapons avaliable (pistol) expected weps are : ninja star, grenade (hopefully), and pistol. Please posts your thoughts and opinions. Be as much of a critic as u wish, just please no utterly mean flaming. OK? good now here is the link to game.. since it is executable i couldn't post it on here...
NOTE: also if u get caught bye enemy u must restart... i gotta make lockpick mini game.. if anyone has ideas on how the minigame should be please post

and about my opinion u should make a machine gun and increase the Enemy
like make easy hard medium or pro u know what i mean right ?

ahhh well im thinking three weps... and im finishing up the ninja stars right now... so i can try and add nades/launcher (will be uber hard) or i can try and do a machine gun (uber easy) xD

Game looks funny, could become good :)
Few things: Make a limit for the rate of fire. Atm i can shoot in 4 directions at a time with a machinegun-like ROF.
Also, the sound of the gun should not stop when the bullet hits an object.

spec i kno shooting needs editing but that is why this is INCOMPLETE i set it too that so i could test the lag and max objects etc. etc.... also if i don't have the sound of the gun stop then you can't hear any other sounds becuz its so loud so im guessing u think it would be better to have the gunshot ring out over the sound of the bullet hitting a wall/person/etc.? i would agree...thx for advice m8

About the gun sound: Would be realistic to not let the gun sound stop. Is a bit annyoing when you hit something right in front of you and you dont hear a shot :)

It looks like the game is still young and there is going to be more features added, so actually I can't give any advice what to add or remove. It is a simple run-and-shoot game for now, and I'll wait for the game to be nearly completed, then I'd play the latest version and would give some ideas. Sorry irish. ^.^; Waiting for a later version. :)

thats ok asa.. for now it is just to test things like spec commented on... sounds, effects, movement, etc.
NOTE: i finished the ninja stars and fixed the sound problem spec menitoned... now im asking who has any ideas on a weapon?? (please be serious not something like a flaming monkey launcher or something ;))

I played the ninja-star version, and i was chatting with Irishknight.
Some of the ideas we had:
Perhaps:
Armed enemies
Landmines (perhaps possible to defuse them)
Shotgun
Grenades
Perhaps even Flash Bangs
"Green People" like friendlies or civilians or something
Some kind of health for the enemies
Picking up Stars after throwing them
Guns shooting through enemies and being a threat for green people behind
Stars not going through enemies, but also not going through grey walls and being less effective
Not all of the ideas are possible i guess, but thats some things we were talking about.
But if Irish manages to add a few of these things, it will be awesome :)
weapons?
you should add some sort of smg. many bullets out quickly. this weapon could also have a spread. like, if i press W it would shoot in all directions going UP, if you get me. innaccurate weapons, recoil etc...
and a shotgun. you press S and 3-4 or 5 bullets flies out and that direction.
and ofc, there is no game without a fancy close-up weapon. i suggest a club or bat of some sort. and i think you need more enemies, and they should be more aggressive. and perhaps several sorts of enemies? like, one would just shoot you, but another might try to run you down and capture you.
and add a Highscore, so that it may be added to the Arcade!
this is a good game with great potensial, Irish, keep it up!

About the smg: he has problems with spread, and since we have a pistol already, i think a smg is not really needed. He wants to make ammo rare.

Yea, but they "look" all the same. I'm also for new guns, but then they mustnt be just normal guns, they must be more creative like a shotgun, the shurikens, mines and stuff. An SMG would work exactly like the pistol, just with a higher ROF imo

ok i added some civs and that made me think... how bout lots of levels.. new obstacle/wep every 5 or 10 levels... and have the way to complete levels be to rescue all the civs ? post your ideas, comments, and opinions plz, also instead of bullets 100% of time going thru an enemy how bout like a fifty fifty chance or a 25 75 or something.. post ur ideas plz... i need ur help
EDIT: ok i just added a lives feature and land mines... now if you step on a landmine it will explode and u respawn at start with -1 lives... well u kno the rest
got the lockpick working?
how about allies? like, somewhere you must keep some guy alive, while he does something?
add some fancy war-like background music. Imperial March, or the battle-music-tracks from Medieval (he knows what Im talking about)
That is nice game .... BTW: What you use to make it? (Program, etc...)

ok about music... i am somewhat ignorant in the field of copyright infringement etc. so i have no idea what music i could put on legally... anyone good at this kind of stuff?.... @ TC: well since i couldn't get visual basic to work with Vista :P i got no idea why... i looked around internet and found thing called Game Maker... look on the site where the game is posted under the tab of Make if you are interested.. there is a free version..

I have Vb.net :) .... free from college, it's the 2003 edition though ..... :)

ha yes a feature put in at spec's request xD... now i have nades (work great i think ... ask spec he is afterall the TESTER) and ninja stars, civs, land mines, better sounds, fixed a few glitches, and other minor alterations... mostly thx to Spec_Operator for all the help ;) thx m8
EDIT: @ TC this program doesn't require code (unless u make something 3D >.< i can't ) because the only coding i kno even a little of is with VB6.0 and it won't work with my stupid comp for some reason.. so i found this neat little program.. only like 20 US dollars for the full version i think... so i bought full...

Also idk if anyone noticed but there is a customizable loading screen ;) well if this game gets REALLY GOOD *crosses fingers* i was hoping one of u grafx guys (if matt says ok) would make an SOG load screen with the site's adress at the bottom of it.. just thot it could brind in a minor bit more traffic... but that is only if it is good enuf and matt ok's it ;) just an FYI if it does get good... there are thousands of people who constantly play games on that site so it has its benefits... awaiting reply

I know some coding from school, I made a guessing game, but wanting to make it more "Interactive", and fun .... Just don't know how yet :(

Really great, Irish :) Okay, you wanted a list, here a few things, more to add later i think.
Longer grenade timer (after throw i'd say 3-4 seconds)
Flash bangs (Some day^^ These should have a short timer and should be very loud)
Fixing the wall bug if that will be possibe...
Shooting from the center of your body, not from the corner
Limited range for the stars
Enemies able to fight^^
The shotgun (limited range, dangerous, but higher damage)
And of course limited ammo. Maybe enemies can drop ammo or there are places with new ammo somewhere. You should have enough pistol ammo, at least one round for every enemie in the level, including the ammo you find. Shotgun ammo should be rare, the stars also rare but you can pick them up again if you missed)

OK yes or no? a special mode with special powers included (fire, ice, teleportation, etc.) and a realistic mode with only real weps.. you think good idea or bad? or should i just make real wep mode. release it then make a 2nd game with powers
EDIT: ok spec u can mark off the shooting from center of body for pistol and ninja star ;)... the wall bug is currently infixable sry m8.. might as well cross that off too... and lets see the limited range for stars is a possibility but may become unnoticable.. i mean after all a ninja can throw a star pretty far and fast right? i think : /

ah i dropped it... after i realized the game type was changing from RPG to levelled shooter... maybe in the future i will make it an RPG with dungeons etc etc. ;) ah and so lucy starts up another round of whose the bigger idiot :P in this corner Ace the Spam King, and in this corner the one and only... Empress Lucy! ok now ding ding round over.... Ace no need for any retaliation

Hey, you can still make it RPG like. I had nothing against a lock pick option, but it should cost one of the lives.
that's odd, after installing the plugin i can't click the "play now" button, i just get a versionable error :s
after downloading, this is my "review"
got a graphic card error... it's not the first game.

Hey Irish.
I havent tried you game yet mate, as I'm in kind of a hurry. :) I just wanted to add something to the lockpick option (I know you left it out, I'd consider it back in though, if you want the game to stand out).
I've played some Splinter Cell 3 Chaos Theory, which is an awesome game, really. It has the best graphics till it's release and well beyond, and the gameplay is really cool, you really have to use your head.
In that game, there's several tasks, that's done with a minigame, and some of them, in online coop mode, actually requires two players to do the job in coordination. Like disarming two connected bombs simutainiously, etc. It also has a lockpick mini, which works in the way that you see a semitransparent lock cylinder, and you see all the pins. Then you have a number of picks in there, and you activate them by tapping one of the movement keys.
So every time you get to a lock, it's a new challenge. And you can't just tap in a possesed way and hope it opens. It'll only move the lock pin if you tap it the right way. I make it sound harder than it is, but when you see it on screen and actually use it, it's very good, because it only requires a little "feeling" and you can unlock it.
So once you get the first pin, by fiding the right key W, A, S, D, and the tapping it right, you move on to the next pin. Depending on the security (~level in game), the lock has only three pins at first, and is open in a matter of 2 seconds, if you got the idea of how it works, while later in game, hey have 6 pins, and take up alot more time, up to 20 seconds, which is enough to put the pressure on with e.g. a patrolling guard or an articulating security cam.
So in my opinion, that's the best way, I've seen it done so far. And it doesn't appear to be changing from a 1st person shooter to an RPG, or anything, it comes very natural : You meet a locked door > get through it.
But using it in your game or not, you mentioned you might wanna use it later on in time for another project, so I figured I'd share the idea anyhow.
