Majid

the songs are the same so you cant blame someone for only listening to it weekly or monthly :(

I'm not going to vote, however, I just want to say that I haven't made/had much time to put more music on the radio, and for some reason it only plays certain songs even after I altered settings that should stop that :(

I've never listened to it. Because i know that all net-radios in my opinion are kinda bad (no offence).
But that's only because I'm just listening to grunge and post-grunge at the moment :).

*listens to the SOG Radio*

I don't listen to it much as I'm in a techno and trance period. :D Bond FTW! Also, I don't listen to anything while playing, which I'm here to do! :p

I have listened to the radio before, so I voted a few times a month.

You know what I would like? For the website to display the name of the tune actually playing.. That would be good.

Its supposed to do, but its sometimes / often late at updating. That is because the servers xml cache file cannot be written too as frequently due to server restrictions. However, for an up to date view, it is possible to see the current song by clicking on Admin next to the status :)

I've listened to it once.

Nothing personal, but there's no point in listening to someone else's playlist if you have one that you like stored on your hard drive somewhere :)

i dont know if its done anywhere, i didnt found:
so: i would write a timetable, when who is doing the radio and hat kind of musik is played. the timetable must be firm.

and u know live365.com, there u can entry the radio perhaps?

i would offer me too for doing one or two hours a week. my kind style would be dancehall, ragga (not reggae) + a little bit D'n'B.
got atm 130KB\s upload.

but then someone must explain how it works.

You can find the programs we did start but we have been too busy to keep the programs going ... click here (http://sog-team.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=86) the threads for the "Programs" are listed there in the top.

I will try to get more active, and find more songs to play on the radio :)

I will look into the live365.com. Well currently we only allow members to host, and only high members up can host if they want.

I donīt think itīs a good idea (because of copyright - you have to pay for it first). Dunno if the radio runs at legal base... ;)

Tim
16-10-07, 10:38 AM
Well ... what you mean? ... The radio is legit :) ... it's not like we are making ppl pay to listen :)

fruferSK
16-10-07, 10:48 AM
I mean the copyright for songs, you know, you canīt perform it public until you didnīt pay for it.

Tim
16-10-07, 10:52 AM
You mean if you didn't pay for the songs? As long as the songs are legit then we can broadcast them .... as far as I know. I think Matt posted something about that....

Nicoleise

Not true, Tc. :)

The point is, if it's for personal use, or if you're making it public.

That's why you can buy a dvd in the store, and then you can go rent the same dvd, but if you look at the disc, and at the copyright notice in the actual film, you'll notice that on the personal copy it says that you are not allowed to play this movie for an audience, while on the rental it says that it's a rental dvd and isn't for purchase

Radiostations (e.g. an FM radio station) also pays per time they play a single. That's why artists and record labels get really rich when a song is played alot, and why The Voice should be killed for playing the same song with a 40 minute interval - because it's supporting the people that have plenty, rather than some new music, that adds something to the genres. But that's off topic.

Point is that you can buy a CD for instance. You're also allowed to make a copy of it for own use. You're allowed to store the cd on your pc... Or on the WWW. But you're not allowed to share it with others. And you're not allowed to play it to an audience.

This is also why Microsoft can tell you that even though YOU bought a Windows copy, you still need to buy one more, for the other PC you own, even though you're one person. Because you're not allowed to share the copy between pcs.

The price paid per time a radio plays a song depends on the number of people, who are capable of listening to that song, or if there's evidence of excactly how many, then that will be the rate.

This law does not apply to ANY audio or video clip, which has a duration of 30 seconds or less. That's why, when you go to a pay-and-download musicstore, they let you listen to 29 seconds of the song. It's also why cinematic trailers by a 3rd party (e.g. a cinema, and not the people who made the movie) usually only has 29 seconds of material from the movie, and THAT's why the speaker speaks really fast sometimes :D

I hope I explained it in a manner that's even remotely understandable, if not, just let me know :)
