These should be printed out, and hung next to your PC to remind you, when you enter combat, that these are the rules...

• The more rounds you have, the more likely your gun will jam.

• Incoming fire has the right of way.

• Anything you do can get you killed - including doing nothing.

• The easy way is always mined.

• If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

• Radios only fail when you need fire support desperately.

• All 5 second grenade fuses will burn down in 3.

• Tracers work BOTH ways.

• Professional soldiers are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs.

• When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.

• If the enemy is in range, then so are you.

• Body count math is calculated thus ;
Three guerrillas + One probable + Two pigs = Thirty-Seven enemy KIA.

• When in doubt, empty the magazine.

• Make it too tough for the enemy to get in, and you can't get out.

• Try to look unimportant, because the bad guys may be low on ammo.

• Always remember that the only thing more accurate then incoming enemy
fire is incoming friendly fire.

• The more successful the mission, the less likely you'll make it back to base.

• If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs, then you may have misread the situation.

• Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.

Hope that helps :D

Tyrope's counter words:

• The more rounds you have, the more likely your gun will jam.
the less rounds you have, the most change you have to run out of ammo

• Incoming fire has the right of way.
you must duck, the bullets won't
• Anything you do can get you killed - including doing nothing.
this also applies outside of battl (AKA terrorists)
• The easy way is always mined.
If the way is mined it isn't the easy one
• If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.
or you are at the wrong adress
• Radios only fail when you need fire support desperately.
make sure to change the batteries!
• All 5 second grenade fuses will burn down in 3.
Don't count 1.. 2.. 3.. when trowing! it'll blow on 2 then!
• Tracers work BOTH ways.
don't bring one, get them from the enemy
• Professional soldiers are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs.
when reading these tips, there's a soldier less on the field
• When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.
and don't forget to tell HQ also
• If the enemy is in range, then so are you.
unless you snipe some soldiers
• Body count math is calculated thus ;
Three guerrillas + One probable + Two pigs = Thirty-Seven enemy KIA.
no counter, i don't understand this one, never done math :P
• When in doubt, empty the magazine.
if you run out of ammo, doubt.
• Make it too tough for the enemy to get in, and you can't get out.this includes, but is not limited to your HQ
• Try to look unimportant, because the bad guys may be low on ammo.
try not to be seen, they may have enough ammo
• Always remember that the only thing more accurate then incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.
HOLD YOU FIRE! *silence on radio*
• The more successful the mission, the less likely you'll make it back to base.
run before you detonate the dynamite
• If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs, then you may have misread the situation.
*another silence on the radio*
• Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.
i give 10.000 for that AK47.

Thankyou all for your kind comments. Tyrope, I admire your thoroughness in going through every rule with a counter-rule - you really do have too much time on your hands :)

FYI, I didn't come up with all the rules - most were taken from the manual to the old flight sim '1942 Pacific Air War'. I thought they were funny and true, so copied them for future reference. Please feel free to suggest any more that occur to you, especially FPS/SWAT related.

(Oh, and Tyrope, the 'enemy body count math' rule is a joke about how enemy casualties are overestimated.)
