Well.. anyone knows how to setup one? I mean, id like to have one so some of my games run faster.. When your windows is raining you get to chose a profile (not in logo screen) so the gaming profile would be free memory, nothing runing on it but games.. :( id appreciate help big time. I know what you're talking about Tyris. If you know what you're done, BUT ONLY if you know what you're doing, you can press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, go to the Processes tab, and start ending processes from there. If you don't know what you're doing (and there's nothing wrong with that), don't mess with it, since you can really cause some damage if you end the wrong things.

Perhaps you would find this program useful, it's called Process Explorer.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/ProcessExplorer.mspx
With the help of this program, you can easily see everything running in the background of your computer, and what exactly it's doing. So, choosing what to close out of will be a lot easier with the help of this program.

Well i dunno what you are talking about but i think i know how to fix it.Well 1 go to Start ----> Control Panel ------> User Accounts -----> And change your account i think that will work.

What Tyris basically wants to do is set up a new account on his computer that he can specifically use for gaming. He wants the account to have nothing extra running in the background so that the games run at a top performance level.

Just split your drive in 2 one for windows and one for games.

Uh wow, eazier said than done :o Il take a look at it.

So spliting the drivers would lose my some gb? Its like i want to have same data but.. Diffrent settings on windows. Hardware to start this and that at startup, high resolution etc.. and gaming to not start that and that, low resolution etc..

Is there a guide on net or something? I looked on google, but nothing much. I tried reducing to windows classic and modifiying something in windows, and wow, swat sure runs faster, and aswell few other games. And if i split drives, would that mean id have to install windows again?

Create a new account....that's easy ok see this...

1.Go to START

2.Click Control Panel

3.User Accounts

4.Create new user account

5.Type the name and set it as Administrator(just in case)

6.Then...Then don't install ANYTHING but the games

Getting games to run faster is the holy grail of computing, and reducing the number of processes running will help. A little. A different hardware profile might help. A little. Running windows without all the graphical bells and whistles will help. A little. Logging on as the administrator makes no real difference at all, in my experience.

My point is that there is no replacement for simply buying a faster machine. However there is one other trick you can try...

Right click on the SWAT4 shortcut, and go to Properties.

The first field you can edit is Target, which points to the SWAT4 exe, and will say something like

C:\ProgramFiles\Sierra\SWAT4\Content\System\Swat4. exe

Insert the following line before the text :

%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /high

Enclose the C\ProgramFiles\etc part with quotation marks ("), so your finished Target line looks like this :

%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /high "C:\ProgramFiles\Sierra\SWAT4\Content\System\Swat4. exe"

Hit OK, and run the game.

You have now set the game to run with the highest priority on your CPU, excluding everything else. If it gives you trouble, just edit the Target line back to the way it was (by trouble, I mean input lag - setting the game to this level can give you mouse problems if it isnt already pretty fast itself).

This will work with any game, but as I said, it can give you unforseen (but easily cured) problems. Worth a go - hope this helps, Tyris.

I checked both of your comps, and it seems tyris has a better one, cept the graphic card seems kinda bad.

What Ivek means, he checked Orion and Mine. I told him about Spider man 3... And man! Orion's bro has spider man 3 maxed up and no lag.. while i have to play under 800x600 settings with low city details and high surface with shadows on.. x2 antialias.. Check my profile on xfire please and orions too (you can do that even when im offline)

If anyone knows, help :(
