I am currently thinking about purchasing a new Video card for my PC, and came across this one.

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814153031

Let me know what you think, I'll probably end up getting it soon, but just thought I would see what everyone thought about it, if you have any opinions on it, or maybe one you would like to show post it here.

I am also thinking of getting some more RAM..... my full wish list from www.newegg.com is below.

You can see my entire wish list of Items that I will most likely get Here (https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=5036651&WishListTitle=New+Stuff).

Honestly, I would trow in a little more cash for the graphics card, and go for the X1950Pro 512MB ($175) or at very least the 256MB version ($155).

Doesn't look bad, do you have one of those? I guess since your recommending one of those that's what you prefer?

I guess one of these would do better then the one I was thinking of getting :). One thing I hope doesn't happen is getting a video card and it not fit so i have to get a diff. one but, I know for sure i have a PCI Express slot so that shouldn't be an issue.

It's just hard to make a decision on this :(

Not yet, but that's the one I'm going to buy. A former co-worker of mine has one of these and it's a kickass card. :)

The AGP version of this card is probably the best AGP available, so it'll be the perfect replacement for my ATI X800Pro 256MB.

I agree with Rayden. I once spent only £50 on a GFX card for my PC, but later realised its performance was nothing compared to one double the price. It is one component never to overlook and cut back on in my opinion.

Make sure its compatible with bf2 :)

I would throw some more money into it also. Unfortunately for me, about a year ago I got my new ATI video ard in AGP, and now its a thing of the past, all the new motherboards out there are pretty much only compatible with PCI Express.

Asrock 4-Core Dual has both an AGP and a PCI-E slot, as well as 2 slots for DDR memory and 2 slots for DDR2 memory. It's the mobo I currently use. :)
It allowed me to swap my AMD 3000XP cpu for an Intel E6400 Dual Core, while keeping my X800Pro AGP graphics card and 2GB PC-3200 memory.

Thank you all for the advice :) I'll probably get a stick of RAM for now and my next pay check I'll see about getting the X1950Pro 512MB for $175 as Rayden recommended. I was just going to get a cheaper one ........ but i don't want to have to buy another for a while so ......... I'll most likely get this one if my next paycheck allows it.... :)

For now I'm going to get 1 GB of DDR RAM because I want to upgrade it as well, & 1GB will help me out as I only have 896 currently ...... but when i get my new Video Card I'll have a total of 2024 GBs :) My MB doesn't support DDR2 RAM.

When I build my own PC in the future I'm going to deck it out ...... it'll probably take me 6 to 12mths. to get the PC built that i want..... it's going to be AWESOME!!

Make sure its compatible with bf2 :)
Don't worry Gordon, according to this site -> http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest my PC isn't compatible with the Video Card I have now..... lol ....... but it's going to be once I get done with it........

I have a X1900XT 512MB here, and it works fine with BF2 and SWAT and all the other new (and old) games. The only thing is: They are very hot. So make sure you have enough ventilation. Else your graphics card will be fried.

Mine is running 54-60 idle and 75-80 while playing swat. Stock speeds.
I hitted the 115 before... but my computer began to make weird noises and my screen was screwed up...

But i recommend the X19xx of Ati :)

But this PC i have now is from 2 yrs ago, and so it's "Old News" but atm it's cheaper just to upgrade it to the max ............ then build me a PC when i get my finances in order.

I'll look more into getting the 512 & Future good point I forgot about the heat, that might be an issue, so maybe i can buy an extra fan or something to put on my MB :s :(

Well, you'll probably need a new power supply as well depending on what you currently have, and most new power supplies have build in fans that cool your CPU and GPU.

Otherwise, just add another case fan. Most cases can take a fan infront and behind.

If you have 1 intake and 1 outtake fan youre good :) (120mm)
A powersupply of 450Watt (coolermaster/antec/tagan/enermax/hyper, the good stuff) would be enough.

I'm not sure on the Power Supply i have currently but i'll will take a look later, and see what it is. I have vents on one side of the case, but not a lot of fans i don't think..... I believe i have 2 big fans, i'll also verify that when i get home from work..... work starts in 1hr & 15mins. :)

3.2Ghz will be a Pentium 4 HT or Pentium D, one would expect unless she's overclocked a newer Core2Duo or something.

Personally i'd be looking in the direction of one of the newer DirectX10 cards, perhaps in the line of the 8800GTS 320mb if you could afford it, they are quite expensive but supposedly worth it.

Don't touch the 8600GT cards apparently they're rubbish if you do look at DX10. I'm going to break the bank a little with my graphics upgrade and purchase one of the newer 2900XTs, anyone seen the super version of that while i'm on the subject? 1024mb Video RAM, heh.

I couldn't find one on new egg, but if you've got the cash, that or an 8800GTX should play well!

Actually... It's filling up rather quickly... :( I think I need to start burning stuff out, my externals are packed. Or maybe I'll just buy another 300GB one.

Yeah, the computer packs a punch. We decided get a good one so we didn't need to update it all the time. I had to update my graphics card though, I had an ATI Radeon 700x 256MB.
