Well you will firstly need a server to stream your braodcast

Now this can either be your own home machine or a dedicated server tho it will need a static ip

More info and the server software for a shoutcast server can be found here (http://www.shoutcast.com/download)

You have the program i linked to? not just shoutcast plugin for winamp? yeah???

Coz what i linked to is the shoutcast server software which you just run, and the use the details in its config to connect to it to stream thru

hosting a shoutcast server is not an easy job mate and as stated at the link i posted it need a good bandwidth, steady connection and a decent machine too. all the info you should need to host the server can be found on the shoutcast site and as far as winamp goes all info for it can be found at the winamp shoutcast plugin page.

Im afraid i cant help you much further than this tho maybe Tim our hoster could help some

Well, as X stated the link to the shoutcast site, that's all you need to get started. There is information at the site that says how to start & configure the server correctly.

If you do have the windows version of the Shoutcast server installed, it's going to be called something like "Shoutcast DNAS (GUI)", it does come with a help file & config file that has helpful hints on how to start it correctly.

If you have the winamp plugin installed correctly per the site, there's a box there that you can put in the server information. If you're hosting the server on the same PC you're broadcasting from then server will be "Localhost". This is all a matter of researching, it may take some time to do so, but the information is out there.

Hope this was a bit helpful. :)

Im getting an error and I've check everywhere for an answer and I cant find it so I went here. Because Tims a genius at this. I keep getting an error

<07/23/10@18:10:29> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (URL: http://71.114.197.235:8100) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache.)

I dunno how to forward my port and I dont know how to do that above. I know its online because i can go to IP 192.168.1.4:8100 and here it only works when I do that but not my internet IP. Thanks SOG for all your help so far. Im sorry if Im asking u for too much. Also people wanna here my station right now but they cant because they cant go to that link. And whats with URL what should that be? Anyway nobody can hear my station but me.

Thanks

Kind Regardz,
Gundown

still a proud SOG player

Go to this page :link: (http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/ShoutCast/ShoutCastindex.htm)

Find your router or modem on the list and it will give you detailed instructions on how to forward the port for shoutcast

You have to make sure the port you set here is the same port that is set in the shoutcast server software on your machine
