View Full Version : Rank Color Changes?
In the "What's Going On?" box on the forums page, is a list of ranks that |SOG| uses for the Clan & site.
The colors have been the same for a while now and I'm wanting to know what you think about the following color changes to these ranks and what color you suggest:
Forum VIP, & Forum Members could be changed to any color that is NOT used currently by any other ranks from Recruit and up to Clan Director. Also Applicants colors are usually not considered but maybe it could be considered as well.
So what colors do you suggest? Please choose colors that would go well with the Pro Dark 09 theme as that is the main one we use and support.
Everyone's feedback is welcome! :D
I would only change the applicants / VIP color as atm they share grey.
Other than that the rest in my opinion could stay the same due to the fact they are recognised throughout the community.

Can take some colours wich are currently used yet but charging their brightness (ie light green) but i think it can make too much confusions.
Blue will be a good one but It is not good with forum colours.
Wil be a difficoult choise.

light purple for vip, then for applicant maybea nice black. :lol:
Then a nice barbie pink for Tim only. :lol2: :joke:

No, no purple :D any colour for VIP's except purple and as im one of the people that will suffer with purple then...well i dont know :p But im happy with any colour for VIP as long as purple is not considered :D If it is then..well :p

I actually like the ones Deka has chosen... except for the Pink for CLs :p
i like DeKA's idea for VIPcolor, but i think (app) and (RC) colors will look similar...
how about this one for (app)?

now we have:
Recruits - Sky Blue
Applicants - Light Gray
VIPs - Light Gray
what I am proposing is
Recruits - Sky Blue /no changing/ or make it like Recruits - Deep Sky Blue
Applicants - Pale Turquise
VIPs - Wheat
and ofc and it should not be ignored and forgotten
CLs Red are but i would like to see'em PINK :P
or lets make CDs - Dark Red and leave CLs - Red

Those colors look great for the positions DeKA (except the pink). I would 2nd those color changes :)
pfffffffffft Tim and Nico will be very unhappy about names not in pink.... but well maybe we can make CMs in pink? :rofl:
If you like pink so much, Im sure Matt can have the new Deputy Clan Director color be pink :muahaha:
umm very interesting proposition however its not possible to do it cause all titles are and will stay in one color :(

Well I like what deka suggested, and also these:
Recruits - DeepSkyBlue (As deka mentioned if changing Recruit colors)
Applicants - RoyalBlue
VIPs - Sienna
or
VIPs - LemonChiffon
Oh and Deka we can give you a separate rank all to yourself if you want pink or another "unique" color. :lol2:

App - nagenta(pink) - reason? they will want faster promotion >_> and try best play etc...
Recruits - deep sky blue
VIP - - sienna or gray
JM - - darkorchid (violet)
Forum members - white

Well I like what deka suggested, and also these:
Recruits - DeepSkyBlue (As deka mentioned if changing Recruit colors)

This option is good for me!
Matt's point is right, I would like to suggest one thing though. To change Recruits color. It's one step before becoming green, so I would imagine it like:
|SOG|Recruit
Making that, we would take the old RC color, and give it to Clan Applicants.

Well, Pale Green would be the only oher choice for VIPs.. As all other colors are taken..
Sienna or weath would be good too.. maybe more weath tho..

But green colour identifies members. Think must be different for VIPs. ie like Sierra proposal.
For recruit mayve ca be good, and recruit color can be applied for VIPs.

I do agree though. I'd like a new color for applicants and VIPs so they are separated visually. The rest of the current coloring scheme should stay as it is now.

i would like to change VIP and App colour because is not easy to distinguish from forum members. So i agree with this option:

the other option teal/blue/brown is good too but i prefer this one
well, no changes for other users groups than App and VIP...
the only one possible change with RC is to make it more saturated but it stays blue

|SOG|Recruits(RC) => DeepSkyBlue
VIP => LemonChiffon
... and may we add the Applicants to the Members Rooster ??

As it is members page i think had to contain only players who bring |SOG| tag.
If we will add Applicant we should add VIPs too.
this problem was discussed before - Applicants and roster - and it stays as it is - only RC+ on official roster;
Apps are instantly added to the xfire group and this is enough cause many Apps are not serious while placing an application and we dont see any point in placing Apps in official roster - with all our respect for those who are really interested in joining SOG Clan and have or will have the App rank
RC rank is reserved for those who we find as trustworthy and valuable persons who we would like to see in SOG and after gaining RC rank we place them in our official roster as a sign to everyone that those persons are meeting our requirements and are on official trial with SOG Clan - in short everyone can place an application but not everyone will be granted RC status

I'd like to point out that SucceededKiller is the one that originally gave me the Idea via xfire one day while he noticed the VIP & APP colors are the same and it may be mis-understood by someone if they don't notice the rank under the name.
CDs - Dark Red
Recruits - Deep Sky Blue
Applicants - Pale Turquoise
VIPs - Sienna

The roster is for the ones wearing the SOG tag :) ...
pink for VIP? poor VIP's.... :D I offer violet or dark blue :) for Applicatios.. why you dont like white? pure and buty color :)

Colours have to be compatible with forum graphics. Dark blue is difficoult to see.
White... maybe for Clan App, yes. :)

Didnt notice before, but the recruit color doesnt blend in as well as the old one. Was there a reason for the change there? :s

To me it looks to be excactly the same blend/brightness/contrast to background as all the other ranks, except Forum Member and VIP obviously as those are much brighter..? :)
App group color is changed from gray to paleturquoise and it looked pretty similar to RC :s
so to keep those two groups in visible different colors i have changed RC.... however the tone of RC is same as it was, it can be re-changed if you like but in this case App have to have other color

Well I thought we would be keeping the grey colour.... for either VIP or applicants. Seemed an odd choice to ditch it and go with two completely new colours.

I think we needed to make a distintion if not for Apps at least for VIPs on forum as they are not "simple" users.
