Does anyone have a lexmark printer ? And if you do does the printer turn on by itself :o It does it to me at least once every two days. I think i may have found the problem i just want to see if anyone else has had a similar problem

EDIT: if you have a lexmark printer check this out: http://www.lexmark.com/uncomplicate/sequentialem/home/0,7070,204812589_416728103_0_en,00.html

I think this may be the cause of my printer turning on by itself, maybe transmitting information to lexmark

I think they take a little more information then what they say they do. Well i disabled this lexmark connect feature so i hope that fixes the problem

I have not used anything other than a Canon printer. However, they have LenMark printers at my school, and that one jammed on me before, so I'm joining the LenMark hating bandwagon :)

I don't have that kind of printer. But i know your problem...it is not the printer.
It is a GHOST coming to get you cause you are a part of SOG. :nervous: lol
I don't know.

Yes I read it :D It doesn't make since why the printer would turn itself on, they should beable to look on the pc, i'm sure there is a file that keeps this information on the pc.

About Lexmark I have never liked them, they are cheap, however "CHEAP" always comes with a price.

I prefer HP, It has done what i want it to so far. I have an All in one HP, I like it, even though i don't use it to often because ink is expensive.

Could be a hacker that's inside the computer guess i know you can put on printers trough windows too.

Man, you better change printer. I had lexmark... dont rememer type, but it didnt print red color :/ I have change on HP 5940, it is cheep and real good. You can print 3000 site on one black color. On lexmark i printed maybe 600 and that was end :/ So think about change ;)

The reason why i got this printer is because it was cheap and does what i need it to do :) Once i get back to full time work i will be doing some upgrading:rolleyes:

It's meeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I'm the Ghost in your machine!! I've been turning on your printer to distract you while I steal your banking details!! :p

Epson is my hot tip. They rock. Canon are not bad printers, but their after sales sucks. I've never had a Lexmark, so I can't join in on hating them, but if we wanna start hating Canon, I'm in!!

lol I agree :D :goodpost: Sometimes you have to settle with cheap until you can upgrade to something better.

Is that why there are so many divorces in the USA? Just a thought!! LMAO

All printing systems have a spyware component that collects information from the user (including the printers serial number) So dont register any software that you have > because they will know who you are

lx_cats is the spyware component of lexmark printers

Heh have you noticed how all the topics in the public forums tend to go off topic?

For example, how does something go from printers to Gordon's marriage to things that Gordon does with his wife that I'm not allowed to know about? Strange :p

Anyways, on topic, I don't think all printers have that kinda spyware on it. Just lexmark :p

Ive had almost all of them, HP, cannon, epson and lexmark. The hp, cannon, and epson cost me a pretty penny ($150 us or more) and they didnt last more than 1 year, I do alot of printing, scanning, photos, ext... but the lexmark has lasted me now for over 2 years and cost half of what one of the others cost and the ink was alot cheaper to.:D

Darn now that im posting this the printer will probably break. LOL :o
