Well looks like im the only one looking in here by the last couple of threads in this forum :P

Anyway i had a wee idea regarding the radio module at the top in navbar.

Now maybe not all of yous will know, as its not something that has been moved over to the new 09 page skin yet, but we have a "Now Playing" scrolling text at the page top when you use "Pro Dark (Grey text) 3.7" skin.

Now my idea would be to integrate this into the module we have and make a few tweaks like shown in the image below.

Now i still think having it in plain text at forum page is required but just this maybe make it look a wee bit cooler. well at least it will when someone better than me designs and draws it, anyway im just shout the ideas, yous can tell me how practical and stuff :P

I'm now using Pro Dark (Grey text) 3.7 skin because there it shows the Now playing, I would like to use Pro dark 09 skin but I also would like to see the Now playing

I remember you telling me this, and I really do like the idea, but I would want to give it more of a "display" touch, like I explained to you. :)

If need be, I think I can make it if the small radio window supports PHP. I'd rather wait for Tims say on it though, as he's the hoster of the radio.

I like the idea and it is very easily done. I will see into it shortly.

However, my question is what do you mean by integrating it into the module?

As far as im aware the radio is only viewable in two places. The forumhome page at the bottom, and the navigation bar. (Unless on Pro Dark 3.7)

well i mean if ya move the now playing scrolling text so it passes over the navbar module so it looks like a display on a radio like the image, get me? :D

The green line on the picture in the first post is not on the site currently ; but it's what X is asking for. :) The green line with text illustrates the "Now Playing" text, but made so it looks like a display.

My thoughts were to create a set of fonts for it, so it looks like the dot-matrix type display scrolling RDS across the display. I'm sure fonts like that also exists already so if they could be found free, that would be even easier.

I'm still a supporter of only adding text, not the background (Green), cause I think it would look tidier. I would try to replicate this as much as I could in terms of colours, fonts, etc :

(Excluding the surroundsound symbols of course, but those could be replaced by the tune-in icons skinned in similar colour to make it look neat and tidy :) )

As most will have noticed I have already modified the display for Pro Dark 09. Just as a start I have re-arranged the display and added the now playing listing in line with the current theme.

Cool, I think that looks better so far. Good suggestion. Might look better if the text did look like Nico posted but if it's more work then not a priority. :)

Hey folks, i know radio module on the homepage has been turned off on the homepage for now due to script issues but is there anyway we can at least get a wee radio image/icon or something back in its place so the radio is at least represented on the homepage? doesn't have to be dynamically linked to the radio feed or anything, infact you could just link it to the forum main page which has the working module, just till the module on homepage is fixed?

Hm, we actually discussed implementing a rather large solution, but I can easily add a link to e.g. the top section of Forum Index.

I'll speak with you about the other solution as well, maybe you could help in making it :)
