You'll find most servers run tht setup mainly because it is very easy to get high points on Karkand when in Infantry Only. Infantry Only is the best setup Imho, means its me against you .. not me against you, a tank and an apc :p

Bigger teams means tanks choppers etc, not alot of point to it if only a few people.. i think next time we play and if there is only a few of us we should lean towards an inf only map...

This being good too good an oportunity to develop as a squad too, :)

cant really do that with all the worlds fighting machines in the way, ;)

my thoughts...

well the play is something else than team training and if we mean train i agree on it but if we want to just kill each others well... give me a tank and a J-10 :p

I think a good map for training on as a squad would be Mashtuur City. This map because of its size, its mix of open and closed street areas and the various levels of terrain. It is easy to learn and has every thing you need to train each kit on (lots of good sniping spots and AntiTank/Spec-Ops ambush points) also there are the transport choppers to practice your airbourne tactics plus a Tank or 2 for the Engineers to play with :)

Under a certain number of players the unwritten rule on most servers and for general sportsmanship is Under 10 players then you play Flag by Flag and infantry only, which i think is a good way to get some practice with the server not so full and ensures the fight will be close rather than spread across the whole map.

I will make a training plan asap. Gve as much feedbk as possible on what u think would be helpful for us to train on. I have my own ideas bt its important for us as a team to give feedbk as we see fit. ;)

flag by flag is ok but not infantry only lol especially if respawn points are long way from attacked flag, i wont run 2hrs form spawn to flag and so on :s

also on not city maps there is no point in infantry only..... good sniper and 2-3 gunners can successfully defend any flag from long distance and there is no possibility to come closer

for a training i suggest to make it as ground forces and air/armored forces cooperation in flag attacking/defending, reporting enemy forces supporting/repairs etc but most important is cooperation between squad members and reporting

Well you need to learn how to fight with what you have rather than jumping in the first "armored bean can" you find. You will not improve your combat ability sitting in a tank, IF you are to have ANY chance of making a successful squad you NEED to be able to fight with NO vehicles whatsoever. 99% of all clan matches are Flag By Flag and Infantry Only.

Trust me any half decent squad of medics can take any flag whether there are Snipers or not.

Flag by flag means 1 flag at a time . For example Karkand map as follows

MEC defends Hotel : USMC attacks Hotel, USMC caps Hotel and attacks Square : MEC attacks Hotel whilst defending Square from USMC and so on ... playing this way means when you have 3 on 3 or 5 on 5 YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN 2 miles to next flag You respawn at your nearest flag to the flag currently being fought over. ;)

everything you want but not Karkand ..... :p

 Yh i agree Karkand is overplayed which why i recommended Mashtuur, Sharqi is a great map but very Sniper friendly. Mashtuur is a fairly balanced map i think and its well lit so visability is better than tht of of Karkand also. ;)

But... but... I like my tank... or vehicle... :( Ok then... *Gets out and runs to use Deka as cover...* :p :joke:

I was getting better by playing more of BF2 or 2142, just gotta be a tad faster then the other guy at going prone and aiming ... :D

Tim , good tip: When u drop to prone dont always use Iron sights. I get more kills without the Iron Sights then with and it also saves a split second of time to not do it. Also DON'T always drop straight to prone, with the majority of guns in Single fire mode u can hit most targets at any range just by dropping to ur knee. If you are in a close quarters encounter then i would say to hit ur prone key dont scope in and fire in 3 - 6 round bursts, if using single fire double tap every shot [AK101 is a 1 shot 1 kill gun, and in close quarters is very deadly and comes with single or full auto fire rates which i prefer].

I like having the unlocks but find the standard weapons are really effective if used well, try the AK101[MEC Medic] or the RPK[MEC Support] these 2 guns are probably the 2 best guns in the game for racking up kills with, practice them an you will see just how good they can be.

I think going for a prone right away isn't the best choice to come by in close quarters. It leaves your head completely exposed and easier to target. I've tracked SO many kill when ppl have hit prone in front of me. Sure it does give some confusion at first but when you get used to that, you allways find your crosshair targeting their heads.

The majority of my deaths are from Long range or are from an unsighted angle (from behind). I often win my 1v1 battles only to get it in the back from his medic team member coming to revive. once you have the prone an shoot nailed down you can mix in a crouch or jump to vary ur tactic. All too often i meet the same guy in the same spot with the same weapon and take him out because i have figured him out, so i throw in some crouches and jumps to put my hit boxes in different positions. IF you come face to face with a support guy then best bet is to go sideways as they will mow you down with their endless ammo and massive fire rate. Each class has its strengths and weaknesses in close combat but PRONE is the best firing position for any weapon in terms of accuracy. Each person has their own style of play, mine works for me but may not for others, i can't stress the benefits enough of being in a decent squad and having a competent Squad leader .. with those ur score will increase dramatically.

Always be aiming at Knee level when running through tight alleyways and streets, this way you have just a fraction to move ur mouse to hit either the proning or standing opponent in a split second and avoid being alone when going through these areas..
