Hello everyone
If you only want to install bf2 without the booster packs follow the steps below:
Before you begin installing make sure you have the most recent stable patch (v1.41). They should be releasing the final 1.5 patch soon (currently in the beta 2 stage) You can get the 1.4.1 patch here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_16477.shtml (Spyware/adware and virus free).
Now that you have the most recent patch downloaded, you can begin installing bf2.
Once you have bf2 installed you want to go ahead and apply the 1.4.1 patch.
***Make sure to restart your computer if promoted***
Once the patch is installed you want to update Punk Buster manually. You can do this by visiting this site:http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
Download the software and follow the instructions on the site. Once you have Punk Buster updated you want to restart your computer.
If you wish to install bf2 booster packs you must install in this order:
First install the original bf2 game > Then install the booster packs.
***Make sure to restart your computer if promoted***
After you have all the desired bf2 games installed you want to then install the 1.4.1 patch and then update Punk Buster manually.
Once the above is all done > restart and you should be good to go.
