Battlefield 2142™: Northern Strike [Archive]

Hello everyone

Has anyone at SOG ever purchased anything via the EA store: http://eastore.ea.com/

I purchased Battlefield 2142™: Northern Strike on 12/3/07. I no longer have a copy of this game because it was downloaded from the EA store. A few months after purchasing this game I had to reinstall the OS. I would like to obtain this game once again. Would I have to re-purchase this game via the EA store or would EA allow me to download this game for free.

I think it should allow you to DL it again as the purchase should be valid. If you DL the EA DownLoader and login if it's available still, you'll be able to DL it. They have a 1yr,I think, standard contract to where you can DL it again at anytime.

I'm thinking about getting that expansion, not sure yet though.

Ok, Hope it works out for you. :) One thing that bugs me about buying it online as a digital DL is that they can control the usage rights more then with a CD as you can install it anytime. But with a DL they can make it so after say, one year, if you need to re-install it after that time and still play it... must pay again for it. :(

Well I downloaded the game on 12/3/07, and its still available for download. All I have to do is install the EA download manager and login with the email that I used to purchase the game.

The game is only $ 9.95 if you buy it from the EA online store. You also get the game within seconds.

Well they have to send you a receipt of purchase by law, and an email is usually the way they do so, which includes the order#, and activation#, etc...

Glad you got it all sorted mate :D EA have been kind to me lately with my BF2142 being reactivated and a new key sent to me.

But as said by a few i aint keen on DL'in games as i have a limit on my dl allowance of on 3Gb a month so prefer to just buy a disc

But ill have a look around and try and find a copy in a local store or on amazon or sumthing as im allways up for giving a game a try :)

You are only allowed to download 3 GB a month? I get 100 GB a month ;)

well i use this (http://www.three.co.uk/Mobile_Broadband/Pay_As_You_Go) mate which is pay as you go mobile b/band so i can have more but it cost me more. find i only really need the middle plans so 3gb will do as its most cost effective

maybe little off but have a question as i can get BF2142 for a few cents - should i do it? and if yes who is gonna play with me as i dont want to be dropped into the servers where i dont know anyone as it was/is with BF2 ....

I think theres a couple of people here at SOG tht play it (Mike Tim PlayerX)to name those off the top of my head. With Bf2 your best bet is to find a server tht suits what u looking for (infantry only, Air Maps etc) then squad up with the admins or members of tht community, i could name a couple of really good BF2 servers tht can cater for most and have some real good people to play with EAF (Elite Armed Forces) would be my highest recommendation along with Team Enclave and =BiB=. If you want their IP's of their servers and Teamspeaks let me know i'd be happy to hook you up. ;)

now see this is why i had the idea of this (http://www.sog-team.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=14256) thread. so you can just look at a glance every1 that has it, then just xfire them :P
