View Full Version : Would you listen if...?

I am considering, and have been for a while, hosting a show based on current events and how I view everything that goes on in my life, and everything else, etc...

I am wondering if anyone here would listen if SOG Radio had a different "Feel" to it in adding a talk type of environment to it. I am going to try to record a sample soon to see what the response is.

So what do you think? Any suggestions? Any Feedback/Suggestions are welcome.

If it was more like a regular radio, with a little chat stuff and so on, to make it a "living" radio rather than a "playlist", then yes indeed! That would make me listen more often :)

:whs:totally agree sometimes it can seem like some has just stuck his ipod on and pressed play. To the point you can know whats next b4 it plays :)

So yeah totally would listen if more "real" :)

Serioulsy what type of topics are you considering??

Can we have a phone in?? or a "ShoutBox" in :s

Well, I have considered a variety of topics, from "What was they thinking?" to politics, things that just annoy me, etc... a variety of other things, just can't think of any at the moment. Will try to have a demo or something ready soon.

Most likely any questions would have to be emailed/PMed at first and even Shoutboxed in, just depends on if I do a live/recorded show. Might do some recorded shows at first just to see what happens. Hope this answers your questions more WmD23.

@Deka: :lol: I don't think BF2 is that bad, but maybe you should be their Advertising manager :p

Yes, I would listen to it.
However, I think it would be hard to find time to just sit at your desk for hours and talk non stop (maybe you could ask Ghost :p)

I'm sure I'll find the time, and for that reason I will just try to have pre-recorded bits and see how it goes from there. :)

Maybe you should set the show at two different users, so that one reads :

TC-Talkin' - LIVE
TC-Talkin' - Prerecorded

The title is just an idea to illustrate, the point is that it should be easy to recognize if it's live or recorded, so I don't sit there argueing with you over the shoutbox, when you're not even there :D

Everything is prerecorded earlier in the day when I host the radio. It is rare I will announce things or talk live just for convenience.

I plan to include a similar thing to you TC but I will give it some more thought. I am making some more recordings tomorrow anyhow so I will see what I come up with.

I like that title, might use it :p I'll keep that in mind, that is a good idea though. I'm hoping to start recording some soon, just have to keep at it and find resources for topics I want to discuss.

In the future I am wanting to do some interviews in TS with certain ppl, just something I have in mind that might "Spruce" the Radio up a bit, and then who knows maybe other clans would be interested in linking to it on their site. :)

@Matt: Are you considering doing just a talk type show like me or... ? Just wondering. It's not easy to come up with stuff when I actually havea chance to take note of it :(

Yes, you just have to change the "Input Device" from "Winamp" to "SoundCard Input", in the Shoutcast plugin, then you can configure it how you want, then if you no longer want to speak just put it back to "Winamp" and play music. :)

Only way that it's possible with WinAmp.
