Just doing a quick poll to see who is planning on getting the new Call of Duty: World at War game for pc.

This is what I found:
Processor: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
RAM: 512MB RAM (XP)/1GB RAM (Vista)
Hard Drive: 8 GB free hard-drive space
Graphics: Shader 3.0 or better, 256MB Nvidia GeForce 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or better

its sods law that i bet Intel graphics cards wont run it....

Haven't had a chance to try out the Beta version yet, and I will no doubt be trying some sort of Demo first, as my PC (3.2 Pentium, 2,5GB RAM and a 512MB -removed- graphic card) will no doubt be struggling.
If my PC runs it good, the game appeals to me and I manage to find some people here actually playing it, I'll probably get it, yea.
I voted "Maybe" though, I really can't say for sure :)

i bet the only thing that lets it down so i wont be able to play is the intel gfx card...

Absolutely not getting this game, after playing the beta i think it is a load of -removed-.
I will decide in the next few days. All depends on the feedback from the polls
Shame bf2 went the way it did, i never did see that server full of clan members. hopefully this game will be more of a success. ;)

After playing the beta version for another 2 hours I realized that the game got really boring fast. So I uninstalled the game. So this poll can be closed as It serves no purpose anymore.
I really hate those stupid attack dogs in the game. They attack you once and you are dead ~ lame.
I would rather play bf2 then Cod 5 any day.
gordon maybe yourself and i can joint fund a bf2 server? With the 2 of us set to it i believe we can make it work? What u say? Pm me if your interested. We can make that work i do believe until a new game suitable arrises. ;)
all i need is a ~bad word :O ~ DVD drive and im totally getting it :D

That sounds like a good plan. But before I do that I want to fix my graphic card issue. Which should be fixed within the next few days. I'm going to go to the store to see what I can round up. I'm willing to pay between 150 and 200 dollars for a new card. So I'm sure I can find something decent. So I will keep you updated.

btw what was the admin setup 4 bf2 ? I never got round to using it. :s
ofc it will need more admins than u and i as i cant be online 24-7 but once the public see our firm hands in bf2 that we have in swat 4 hopefully once the hard work is outa the way we will have an active 'temp' server if all goes to plan.... UnTill another game more suitable that we can 'break in' arrises. ;)

You need to update direct x after you install game.
Oh, well I don't think it's worth the hassel, and don't think that Dx 10 is for XP? I have 9.0c, so not sure why everything has to be so difficult. :p

You have to install 9.0c. That's what I did when I got the same exact error message

I have played and tried both online and i first of all am not a fan of the WW2 look since it has been done too many times for its own good ... and strangely the game looks like it is less graphical then COD4 ??

It realy seems like a step back in my opinion since it feels like COD4 it is COD4 but with a WW2 setting and a bit dry weapons and some crazy new ones that dont add much to the game...
It's business and i guess the makers of COD series didnt want to upset their WW2 fans for too long and decided too make a COD4:WW2 with some aditions and dumped it on the market one year after number 4 came on the market ... Modern warfare was a breath of fresh air in my opinion.
I agree with Majid, Call of Duty 5 seems like a step back but bear in mind that this is not created by Infinity Ward.
CoD 5 was created by Treyarch and in my opinion they dont get close to Infinity Wards creations.
Sadly alot of the picture on the internet dont really justify the graphics in the game.
Treyarch enchanced alot of visual effects like water, fire, smoke and added a ton of gore to make it more dramatic. I also like the addition of driveable tanks and a few movie inspired scenes.
Sadly I cant talk about gameplay since i dont own this game but as far as I have seen its pretty much the same except that enemies now do Suicide Charges, Hide in trees and holes.
Im pretty excited to see what is next for the CoD series wich really grabed my attention with Cod 2 but I accidently bought Cod1 and Cod1 United Offense instead ( Lol:p).
The CoD series really runs away from MoH wich are still stuck in WW2 but theyr newest addition with Airborne was not that bad of a game but the oldtimer Frontline is still the best of the MoH series.

When you're only experiencing missing files, you can simply download (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3d9) them (it might tell you link is expired - simply click to generate a new one) and copy them to your Windows\System32\ folder. :)
It's very easy and quick, and usually the files can be attained (legally) simply by googling the name of the file in the error message. :)

I didn’t notice the change in studio but from what i can see it makes a lot of sense now ... the COD5 conversion has been done too hastily for such a big brand such as the COD series and yes the new additions are fun to try but the tank feels as if it glides over the terrain and its third person camera is simply a aerial view of the entire battlefield which is not nice for those that want to sneak up at it and run away afterwards.

All in all its a MOD and like most mods it simply stands shoulder to shoulder with the original or vanilla version or fades after the initial "freshness" disappears.

I think Treyarch wanted to make a more " Realistic " WW2 Feeling since it was chaotic and intense back then.
Sadly Treyarch seems to be focusing alot more on the Combat experience than Gameplay. Sure I like intense games that draw you into the enviroment but when the Gameplay is lacking behind then its not a good idea to do.
Good thing is that Infinity Ward and Treyarch learn from eachother by mistakes and hopefully wont make those again, it also reduces the time we have to wait for a new Cod drasticly.
But if you look at wich Cod games are best we get a pretty clear view
Call of Duty 1 / Infinity Ward / Great Game
Call of Duty 1 United Offensive / Grey Matter Studios / Pretty much the same as Cod 1 just with new maps
Call of duty 2 / Infinity Ward / Awsome game, stod out with graphics and great gameplay
Call of Duty 3 / Treyarch / Console Cod wich was intense but lacking good gameplay
Call of Duty 4 / Infinity Ward / Best Cod to date
Call of Duty World at War / Treyarch / Recycled Cod 4 experience but with better effects
In the long run its a good deal but gamers know what they want.
